Catch – 22 Homelessness

The challenge of homelessness in Folsom is intricate and has various dimensions. Factors such as economic conditions, housing affordability, mental health and substance abuse contribute to the issue in the city. It is imperative to adopt a comprehensive and collaborative approach that involves the City Council, community organizations, and residents to effectively address this challenge. Organizations like the Homeless Assistance Resource Team (HART) of Folsom and Sakina Homes are already working in conjunction with the Crime Suppression unit in Folsom. However, there is a need to enhance these efforts by ensuring they have the necessary resources to combat homelessness effectively.

Public Safety

Ensuring the safety and security of our neighborhoods, parks, schools, and shopping areas will be my foremost focus. Our public safety departments, including Folsom PD and FD, are currently facing significant resource shortages, stretching them thin. Collaborating with fellow elected council members, I will strive to secure additional funds for public safety agencies, enabling them to hire the necessary resources and maintain the safety of our city.

Fiscal Responsibility

There is a critical requirement to revamp and modernize the procedure for inviting new vendors and suppliers to offer services to Folsom residents. As a Council Member representing District Folsom, my primary goal is to simplify the bidding process, foster competition, ensure accountability, and encourage public-private partnerships to benefit the residents of Folsom. I am dedicated to advocating for transparency and accountability in every dollar spent by the city, making certain that the community is informed about why, where and how funds are utilized.

Folsom Rodeo
Small Businesses & Job Growth

The economic prosperity of Folsom relies significantly on the vitality of small businesses and job growth. I am committed to addressing retail theft issues, fostering job opportunities through the attraction of new enterprises, and fortifying relationships with existing businesses. This approach aims to stimulate business growth and expand the tax base for the overall benefit of our community.

Infrastructure

The significant traffic congestion experienced on E Bidwell Rd., Iron Point Rd., and Folsom-Auburn poses substantial challenges for morning commuters, schoolchildren, and other travelers. Folsom residents have endured these issues for an extended period and are eagerly awaiting resolutions. Moreover, there is a crucial need for additional infrastructure on the south side of Highway 50 that has been overlooked. I am committed to directing efforts towards enhancing the overall infrastructure of the City of Folsom to address these pressing concerns.
